Sue Knowles

Sue Knowles will retire as Secretary of the British Goat Society during April 2010 after almost 23 years of service.
Sue took over as Secretary at what was a very difficult time for the Society. Computerisation had been introduced and new staff appointed, both of which had caused problems and delays with registrations, transfers of ownership, administration and the general running of the office. Thanks to Sue’s efforts all of these were overcome and the Society began to function in a much more efficient and business like way.
One of the great benefits in employing Sue as our Secretary was that she had been a goat keeper and member of the Society in her own right and therefore knew many of the intricacies of how the BGS operated.
I know that many members are keen to commemorate Sue’s retirement by contributing towards a leaving present. If anyone feels they would like to contribute they can send a cheque/postal order made payable to the “British Goat Society” to me at the following address;

Richard Wood
2, Dunsley Gardens,
Dinnington,
Newcastle upon Tyne.
NE13 7LL

The deadline for receiving contributions will be Wednesday 31st March 2010.

I do hope that as many members as possible will respond to this invitation so that we will be able to say “Thank You” to Sue after so many years of loyal service
