Memorial Seat
At Devon County Show 2007, it was noticed that long service stewards of the Show were remembered with memorial plaques cited on the route up to main parade, it was suggested by a goat exhibitor that Dairy Goat Steward Len McGuinness should be included likewise.

I approached the Show Secretary at next committee meeting and was advised that they no longer do plaques in that way, - current memorials take the form of a bench seat with a plaque on it that is set up at the appropriate Section during Show week. The cost for this would be in the region of £260.

I raised the subject at Devon Goat Society AGM in October and the idea was met with approval, Len's daughter Yvonne was enthusiastic about the idea and has made a substantial contribution, based on this I have instructed the Show Secretary to put the wheels in motion so that it will be ready for this year's show.

I had verbal promises for contributions so will be collecting from now to make up the full amount required, please send any contribution you wish to make direct to me
