Bronze medal to auction at the AGM
Mr Victor Thornley has very kindly donated a British Goat Society bronze medal to auction in aid of the Grassroots Appeal at the Annual General Meeting to be held at Chesterfield, Derbyshire on Saturday 10th April 2010.
The medal was first offered in 1929 at the North Weald Show and was awarded to Mr J.R Egerton for best exhibit. It comes in a small presentation box.
If anyone feels unable to attend the AGM but wishes to make a sealed bid they can forward it to the Chairman;

Richard Wood
2, Dunsley Gardens,
Dinnington,
Newcastle upon Tyne.
NE13 7LL

Sealed bids must be received by Friday 9th April 2010 at the latest.
We are extremely grateful to Mr Thornley for this kind gesture.

The appeal for donations towards the purchase of the Grassroots System is going extremely well.
As I write this note on the 19th February we have received over £2,500 and I am well aware of more contributions to follow.
In particular I was extremely pleased to learn that the Mid Anglia Goat Society is to donate £3,800. This large amount, however, is as a result of the decision to disband the Society which is very sad news indeed. I will be eternally grateful to the Mid Anglia Goat Society for their decision to donate their funds to the BGS appeal and would publically thank all of their members for their kindness and generosity.
Contributions have been received from many Affiliated Societies, Life Members and individual Members.
These are exciting times for the British Goat Society. Thank you to everyone for your support and encouragement.
